Happiness lies in the small things we overlook

I was standing under the rain. The tears in my eyes kept flowing muddling with the water droplets that were perpetrating the act of hiding my tears; to much of my liking though. I remembered everything. The moments we had shared together. The way he had proposed me, the time we had fought with each other, the time we had spent in each other’s arms. Every memory was live in my mind as if it all had happened yesterday itself.

He had left me. Left me dangling on the corner without a reason to suffice my incessant queries. I did not know what to do. It felt like my world had come crashing down. He just left me without a reason. May be the reason was clear right from the beginning. May be I was too blind to see that coming. Maybe I had already seen it but decided to treat it as unseen.

Whatever it was, I was shattered to the core. I felt depressed. I did not feel like talking with anybody or engaging in the usual activities girls my age do. I felt hollow and empty. My nights were spent crying and the day was all gloomy.

But what was the purpose? When I took control of myself (and that was a good three years time
), I felt like I had wasted all these years crying for somebody who simply did not care, someone who was not worthy enough for all I had given him, someone who did the best by leaving me because he was not the guy for me.

I felt like I had missed those little moments of joy that have been around me forever. I did not care that my mother had retired from her duties. I did not care that my father got another promotion. I did not care that my younger brother had topped his college. I did not care that our maid had given birth to a beautiful girl.

But I was a fool for not noticing. For me, happiness meant him coming back to me and embracing me again. That never happened and that was not the ideal happiness we need in our lives. We keep waiting for the big things to happen while we forget that the little things do matter and they can definitely make you so much happy.

I learnt my lesson the hard way, but you can learn it without losing much. Cherish the small moments and make the most out of them, kya pata kal ho na ho?

Will you hold my hand?

Will you hold my hand?

Things have changed since I met you in my way,
Nights are no longer same and so are the days;

Your smile makes me happy,
And your tears make me cry,

Wanna be with you with my open eyes, and with them close,
Is always there with you in the deep blue sky;

Have started loving the rains,
And have grown a childish brain;

Loves to listen whatever you say,
And wanna kill the difficulties in your way;

Loves every single thing which happens around,
And like to share it with the friend I have found;

Just need you indeed,
Will you hold my hand to make my life complete....?

Prisoner for Life

I keep two bread slices and a bowl of vegetable soup in a tray and walk downstairs. Pulling a hidden doorway through the floor tile, I climb down the staircase. The room has started reeking now and it makes me gasp for fresh air almost immediately.

He is cuffed alongside the wall and looking as miserable as possible making me wonder how I'm left with no mercy for him and why should I? He had assaulted and killed my sister after all and I will make sure he continue to survive even though he wishes to die.

Fifty Shades of Grey - Review

I'm not from the book fan club. But I was curious with the hype around the movie and decided to watch it. In plain and simple words, I just hated it.

I was reading a review where a girl has tagged it as 'fifty shades of fucked up'. I completely agree with her view point because I could not find any script in the movie. The leading characters are so pale and poorly built that you find no interest in knowing them. Of course even the directors pays no attention to build their characters as he finds interest in showing the steamy scenes instead.

The movie is full of sexual encounters and that too not the usual sexual encounters. Mr. Grey has a fetish for bondage and what you see is a bizarre form of bondage sex and domination. And yet, Anastasia is madly in love with him.

I could not understand the purpose of this movie. I'm really glad that I did not waste my time reading the three thick books. If this is what it contained, I consider myself lucky to have skipped it.

Overall, I did not like the movie at all and I do believe you won't as well. So save your money and spend it somewhere else. This is just a cheap money seeking productions trying to use the popularity of the books (which are no better either as told by some of my friends).

What is Love?

What is love..??
It's the feel, which makes you warm,
it’s the thought which sets you calm;
It’s the hunger starving for food,
It’s the fragrance of the rosewood;
It’s the lost one who wanna meet,
It’s the feeling in your every good deed;
It’s a dead who wanna live,
It’s the life you never wanna give;
It’s the dream which afraid to wake,
It’s the pill, which you can always take;
It’s the talk you have with your dears,
It’s the eyes filled with happy tears;
It’s the moment which gets you wings to fly,
It’s the fish out of the water, who don't wanna die..

India's Daughter: My View

India's Daughter: My View

The documentary has been banned from everywhere now but still, I managed to watch it somehow. Are they going to arrest me for that? Let's hope not! I am fed up by this new ban culture of Indian government. It feels like the rights mentioned in our constitution does not matter anymore.

Why the ban? Is it because someone showed the true face of the hypocritical Indian society? Does banning the video makes any difference? Will it change the mentality of people? The government is saying that it could have broken an outrage among the masses and it is therefore they had banned the video. Well it took them moments to ban a video that was actually peaking the truth and bringing out the true faces of the culprits as well as our patriarchal society. But when it comes to providing justice to India's Daughter, they have been delaying it since 2012. So many years even when everything was clear from the day 1.

When a lawyers speaks of killing his own daughter if he comes to know about her having a relationship with a guy or engaging in pre-marital sex, you can sense the depth of the hole the mentalities of some males have sucked into.  Such people are the defenders of law. Such people are covering up[ the crimes of thousands and lakhs of criminals.

If you have not watched the documentary, try to find it on Internet and you will find it. Tell me if that does not make you cry. I'm sure there are so many men who have a different mentality and I know they stand together with me for the cause. All you guys who have been sharing and supporting the movement and demanding justice for India's Daughter, you are the real men and I'm proud of you all.

I'm a Girl with Wings

I'm a Girl with Wings

India is a developing nation. It's great to look back and realize how far we have traveled since the old ages in terms of technology and modernization. But at the same time, we are still so orthodox to capture the female gender under tags. It starts right from the beginning of your life when you are told even by your parents that you must learn all the household because you’re a girl.

Well, I’m not a girl who used to sit back home and take care of the house. I’m a girl with dreams. I’m a girl who’s studying hard so I can create a good presence in my career field in future. You can’t tag me with anything. I’m bold and I’m beautiful and I don’t mean just physically. I’m smart enough to carry out the tasks that men can do. But can the men boast of the same thing? I’m not talking about all the men here. My sister has been married to the nicest guy I have ever seen who treats her equal to him. They both are leading a blissful life. There are no compromises. When I see him, I get relieved because then I realize that there are men who support women in bringing out their best.

I am not a slave but a free girl. I have been earning my pocket money myself since I was in the eleventh standard. I still give dance classes to the kids up to 12 years of age. That is how I have stood upon my feet. With that, I’m pursuing my studies and I hope to find a suitable well earning and respectable job in future based on that.

It was never about ‘Or’ for me. I have always used ‘And’ because I’m a girl with multitude of talent and I’m proud of it. No, I don’t want to demean the opposite gender with this post. I just want to spread awareness that if given chance, we women can achieve heights that we deserve. So, I ask all the guys to please be supportive and help women spread their wings in sky deprived of chains.

Monster Under My Bed

Monster Under My Bed

Dinner is over and now my mother will tell me that it's the bedtime. I don't want to sleep; at least not alone.

My mother says that it is only in my mind but I don't believe her because she don't believe me.

The monster living below my bed scares me to death. If it's not real then how did I get those scratches on my arm for real when he clawed with last night?

AIB Knockout Roaster

I have been a fan of AIB. They started so small and gradually climbed up the stairs of success. The first big moment according to me was when they roped in Alia Bhatt for a mock comic video. Attaching such a big name with oneself is definitely a big success.

These guys have been innovative and I can't help but laugh whenever I come across their videos. Today, while working on a project, I landed their latest video that have been making sensation all over the India i.e. The AIB Knockout Roaster with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.

I clicked on the promoted content and was taken to youtube. Believe me when I say that I just needed a break of 15 minutes but when I started watching it, I could not stop. I was laughing holding my stomach as it hurt. Frankly, I haven't seen anything as filthy, abusive and offensive as these videos and I can't believe it happened in front of so many people.

Saluting the spirits of the Ranveer Singh and Arjur Kaporr as well as KJo, Rajeev Masand, Raghu Ram Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha. Ofcourse, the AIB team was there as well and even their spirits were great.

The best part is that the 40 lakh sum generated by the two hour show will be used for charity.

Do watch if you're open to offensive humor and filthy language. You can watch the first part below. The second and third part links can be found in this video description.

Pitch Perfect - Review

Pitch Perfect - Review

Jason Moore marks his debut in a feature film with Pitch Perfect. The story is set at Barden University. Beca played by Anna Kendrick is a fresher at the college and decide to join the all-girls singing group of her college named as ‘The Bellas’. The rest of the movie is all about how they plan to take over the male rivals in the competition held in the campus.

The movie clearly seems inspired from Bridesmaid kind of humor and other movies. The Bellas are trying to win the audience reactions by showing off in bikinis while singing pop but end up in complete irony. A new life is injected into the singing group as an aspiring DJ Anna enters in the campus and joins their group.

Expect the actors to be really good and funny at many places. We have already seen Anna but the supporting cast as well has done really well. The comic timing is pitch perfect as the title says. It might not make you laugh out loud but will definitely make you smile.

The story is predictable and that’s where it lacks majorly. Once into the core of the movie, one can suggest scene by scene easily. There is no need to wait for the movie as everything can be deduced. A hint of romance is also added to spice up things a bit. But it was least important to the viewers. Moreover the subplot of romance was predictable as well.

The script is quite simple and clean. There is no hotchpotch going on as the movie runs at a moderate pace with simple unfolding of the events. The music has gone really well with the movie. If you are a music lover you will definitely like the movie. The integration of music is really worth watching. The funny moments blends in the story perfectly.

One might want to regard it as a chick flick. There is no doubt that the girls are going to like it much bore but it is an enjoyable film for guys as well. The humor though derived from bridesmaid is not at all encircled around PG 13. There is a big bunch of crude humor which should have escalated the rating above PG 13 but stay in tacked with the movie.

But the crude humor is what exactly has made it a good watch for guys too. If you remember watching Easy A, you can co-relate the kind of humor present in Pitch Perfect with that. After a long time, Pitch perfect is the perfect musical comedy that has been released to serve the purpose efficiently. This will definitely put a smile on the face of every age group especially teenagers.

Chetan Bhagat's Half Girlfriend - Review

Chetan Bhagat's Half Girlfriend - Review

Blurb Behind the Book
Once upon a time, there was a Bihari boy called Madhav. He fell in love with a rich girl from Delhi called Riya. Madhav didnt speak English well. Riya did. Madhav wanted a relationship. Riya didn't. Riya just wanted friendship. Madhav didn't. Riya suggested a compromise. She agreed to be his half-girlfriend.

From the author of the blockbuster novels Five Point Someone, One Night at the Call Center, The 3 Mistakes of My Life, 2 States and Revolution 2020 comes a simple and beautiful love story that will touch your heart and inspire you to chase your dreams.

Book Review
I am not a Chetan Bhagat fan, nor do I hate him. I pick up random books and this was one of those books I bought at a steal price of Rs.95 from Amazon. To tell you the truth, I bought it just because of the unbelievable discount.

What should I say? Half Girlfriend is a half-baked story if I have to give my review in one line. AS usual, Chetan Bhagat brings in subplot with the main story that bores you like hell and then the whole story is too clichéd and typically written just for the movie adaptation.

But, I liked reading it and was able to finish it off in just two sittings. One has to give that credit to him. He actually writes in simple language and you get hooked with the story. I did not like the guy’s character here. He was a typical needy and desperate guy. Riya on the other hand was a confused character and I could not understand most of her behavior.

The good things were some lines here and there which ignited the feeling of love but they were so random and were unable to maintain the momentum.

Overall, buy if you are a fan of his or you want a light read after reading those heavy literature books by acclaimed authors. A nice time pass at best so don’t expect anything great out of it.

PS: Let's not be too hard on him.

Kim Kardashian - Breaking the Internet

Seconds after the bare butt photo of Kim Kardashian was posted by papermag, the internet went crazy. Wasn’t this the entire purpose behind pulling a stunt like this? Even the tag ‘Breaking the Internet’ suggests the same. And if there was any void left, it was filled with her bare front picture that came later.

Ever since the dare bare stunt, you can find several memes over the social media sites and the different parodies created by people against it. While many were offended by the nude pictures, some believe it is her body and it’s her choice. Also, they claim that there is nothing wrong in showcasing the female sensuality and rather than being ashamed, we should marvel over it.

I really don’t know what to make out of it. She wanted popularity and that is what she has been getting. No matter if you hated her for it or you loved her for it, all of you have been filling the internet with her news and ultimately promoting her.

So, well done Kim Kardashian. You achieved what you wanted. All of us are foolish enough to promote such an idiotic publicity stunt.

PS: That sure is an amazing booty.

Beasts of the Southern Wild - Review

Beasts of the Southern Wild - Review

Benh Zeitlin marks his debut as a director with Beasts of the Southern Wild. It is a drama movie centered on a six year old girl who leaves her Delta-community home in search of her mother after facing her father’s fading health and environmental changes that release an army of prehistoric creatures called aurochs. The movie therefore can be categorized under fantasy as well.

As soon as you finish the movie, you’ll find yourself remarking it to be a gorgeous movie. It will make you fall in love instantly of course with the movie and the girl Hushpuppy played by Quvenzhané Wallis. No doubt the direction is not quite mature. Even the screenplay is quite strange as the production crew was not experienced. The supporting acts were lacking too. But none of the technical aspect can stop you from feeling the beauty and charm of the film. The only reason is the leading cast.

Going by the plot, the movie may sound starkly bleak but the film is put together quite well. It is not at all a mediocre movie. It collaborates as an intense drama which is quite moving at times. The director tells us about the life of people living in a community. He portrays on the growth of children through Hushpuppy who lives in Bathtub. Yes, the places, the names sound quite confusing to be selected but you will realize the importance while watching the movie. The film carries a raw realism all through. The film connects emotionally to the viewers and the direction as well has played a keen role in it. As stated earlier about a bit of amateurish direction, it is noticeable in the elongated shots of the movie and in shots where the fantasy overcame the drama. Otherwise it’s a great effort by him as a debut.

The script is refreshing and touching. But a script is nothing without a good screenplay which is achieved in quite a place. It provides viewers with some unforgettable scenes and an emotional attachment which you don’t encounter in much of the movies. It’s wonderful to watch Wallis in the role of Hushpuppy. You won’t feel for a moment that it is her first movie. Even she might not understand the character properly due to her young age but has portrayed it brilliantly. Even the characterization of Hushpuppy is magnificent and worth praise.

The movie is one of those rare examples where some elements are extraordinary and unforgettable. The direction, the acting, the script and even the background score blends together to make it an experience which is truly beautiful.
